Areas of Research

The Mobile Information and Network Technologies Research Centre conducts leading research on the application of emerging wireless technologies to healthcare systems by addressing areas of research such as medical quality of service, bio-communication systems, network security in m-health, and 4G technologies for healthcare. Working in this innovative engineering environment, MINT aims to bring together Clinicians, Engineers, and Scientists at the forefront of information and communication technologies for medicine and solutions to perplexing health care problems.

Research and Funding News:

	Prof Istepanian on the Technical Program Committee of the 5th International Conference on Information Technology and Applications in Biomedicine (ITAB 08), in conjunction with the 2nd International Symposium & Summer School on Biomedical and Health Engineering (IS3BHE 08), which will be jointly held in Shenzhen, China on 30-31 May 2008.
	Prof Istepanian is guest editors of the special issue: 'WiMAX and 3G/3.5G Wireless Technologies for HealthCare Applications' Special Issue of the International Journal of Telemedicine and Applications. Call for Papers.
	Prof Istepanian on the technical committee of the Fifth IEEE International Workshop on Genomic Signal Processing and Statistics, IEEE GENSIPS'08, 8-10 June, 2008, Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
	Prof Istepanian selected as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Telemedicine and Applications.
	Prof Istepanian is to present the IET-London lecture "The Potential of Emerging Wireless Healthcare Systems for NHS Services", 6 Nov 2007, at 7:30pm, in "The Swan", 22 High St. Hampton Wick, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 4DB.
	Visiting Researcher from NIT Jalandhar, India, Dr Arun Khosla, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, is visiting MINT Research Centre with an objective to explore the possibility of tie-up and collaboration so as to work together in the domain of mobile health. more
